Meet the Team
Simon is a qualified Occupational Therapist in independent practice with a sound knowledge of environmental adaptations, physical, neurological and psychosocial conditions. He has a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Southampton University and a HND in Sports Science and Disability Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Prior to establishing Enable Works Simon was employed by Social Services in the Older Persons Team, for Portsmouth City in and in an Immediate Care Team for Southampton PCT. He then travelled to New Zealand where he worked on a variety of contracts including: Vocational Rehabilitation, Environmental Adaptations, Pain Management and Injury Management.
Whilst in New Zealand Simon developed the concept for a team that could meet the goals, targets and deadlines of their customers by combining key professional skills with a true understanding of the differing needs of the individual.
Vicky is a qualified coach with a postgraduate diploma in coaching and mentoring from Oxford Brookes University. Vicky specialises in career coaching and has experience of outplacement coaching and sickness/injury return to work coaching. She also provides life coaching and leadership coaching.
Vicky uses Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques in her coaching practice.
Vicky has a background in social care and housing management. Vicky has extensive experience or recruiting and managing teams. She is an experienced contract manager, leader of housing officers and of CQC registered teams. She has a level 5 social care management qualification.
Vicky has worked for a variety of voluntary sector organisations both in the UK and in New Zealand before becoming a co-director at Enable Works
Jo is a qualified occupational therapist with experience in working with a wide range of people in mental health, learning difficulties and physical health settings. Jo has a first class degree in occupational therapy and is always developing her skills and knowledge-base.
Jo has varied experience working in the NHS, private and voluntary sectors. Jo has chosen to specialise in work, both in seeking and making the most of existing posts.
As well as occupational therapy, Jo draws on experience of life coaching, positive psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy amongst other approaches to inform her practice.
Jo is an occupational therapist who completed her doctorate in vocational rehabilitation specialising in working with people with Multiple sclerosis. She is the author behind the “Working Yet Worries” toolkit information book for people with MS in the work place.
Jo has a wealth of experience developing and providing Vocational Rehabilitation interventions for people with Long term conditions. Working alongside the employee and employer to ensure their relationship is healthy, supportive and that it facilitates good working practises. Jo continues to be involved in clinical research programmes and has a specialist interest in MS.
Philippa is a qualified Occupational Therapist with particular expertise in neuro injuries rehabilitation and case management. She holds Diplomas in Occupational Therapy and Inclusive Environments and an MSc in Health Sciences.
Philippa has substantial experience of managing the rehabilitation, resettlement and return to work of of patients who have suffered neurological impairment and other catastophic injuries. She has considerable expertise in the medico-legal field, undertaking immediate needs assessments and and setting up complex care packages. Philippa also has significant experience of working with patient with autism and other behaviour and communication difficulties.
Fiona is a highly experience Occupational Therapist with substantial expertise in vocational rehabilitation. She has a BSc in Occupational Therapy from Aberdeen University.
Fiona has significant experience of undertaking functional/vocational assessments, developing return-to-work programmes and undertaking rehabilitation. Her experience spans catastrophic injuries, mental health conditions and chronic fatigue/pain.
